Why muftin.com?

It's a long story. The gist of it is that I ended up with the nickname 'muftingurl' quite some time ago, and I decided that it fit. When I was looking for a domain name, I saw that alot of my initial ideas were taken. So, instead of questing around for a flashy name, I've settled on one that's true to my nature.

The Quick Version

I graduated from Reed College with a BA in Biology in 2003. Since then I've been working on getting my pre-requisites together, in order to gain admission to veterinary school. Admissions are notoriously competitive, but I remain confident. While working on my academics, I also work two part-time jobs. I work as a veterinary assistant at Arbor Vet Clinic, a full service practice here in Portland. I also work several positions for a mobile veterinary service called "Luv My Pet." Ultimately, I plan to get my DVM and to be involved in a practice that specializes in exotics.

Ye Olde Personality

I'm the only force behind Muftin Geckos. I'm sort of a hermit. It wouldn't be inaccurate to say that I prefer animals to people, though I fake it really well when necessary. I like to spend a lot of time with my pets (leos and others). Socio-politically, I'm a crazy environmentalist liberal (I prefer to 'earth muffin' to 'tree hugger,' heh-heh). I collect skulls and other remains. I also collect action figures (see, I'm a huge dork). I love horror movies, reading all kinds of stuff, body modification, graphic novels/comics, all kinds of music, and a bunch of other stuff. My ethics are my backbone, and i take great pride in being a hardass about them.

The Other Pets in My Family

In addition to my leopard geckos, I have:

2 cats (Boris & Red Bull)

9 hermit crabs

1 sugar glider (Chip)
